Border Patrol
Border Patrol is the volunteer security group that operates during Renn Fayre with a primary goal of maintaining the privacy of the "private party" that is Renn Fayre; that is, we act to assure that the only people on-campus during the weekend are students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. Border Patrol works extensively with Community Safety to accomplish this goal.

Border Patrol is run by one or two Lieutenants, who generally have experience working with Border Patrol and Community Safety. They coordinate and organize prior to Renn Fayre and help supervise during Renn Fayre itself.
Your 2008 Border Patrol Lieutenants are Alexa Moss and Robert Ericksen.
For various reasons, Border Patrol operates at different levels at different times. To accomodate this need, we employ a simplified version of a concept called zone management (the full version is used by public safety agencies such as law enforcement, fire, and EMS). Most of the time, there are four teams on; they patrol according to the 4-Team plan below. However, at off-peak times when less coverage is necessary, two teams patrol according to the 2-Team plan below. Copies of the zone plans will be distributed to teams as they begin their shifts.
